My mum sadly passed away in March 2012 (only 53 years old) from acute myeloid leukaemia after only a very short 8 months after being diagnosed. After her passing, I became quite depressed & felt very lost.

Then in June 2013 I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and had to have a complete thyroidectomy and Radioactive iodine treatment, full body scans & isolation in hospital.

My husband & I got married in October that same year & then I had to have my follow up treatment 12 months after. Our meant to be, miracle baby was conceived in the safe period of time between my treatments and we had our beautiful daughter Ruby in Jan 2015.

After my thyroid cancer, I have continued to do everything I would have done before, and without a chronic illness. I also wear my scar with pride ! It’s my battle scar!

I’ve done the 4 day trek To Machu Picchu, I’ve walked with lions in Mauritius while on honeymoon, I started weight training and lost my baby weight plus some, I’ve pursued my modelling career & finally enrolled in a makeup course after years of wanting to do it!

I’ve also been accepted as a grand finalist in the Miss Diamond Australia 2017 pageant being held in Brisbane next year!

I am raising money for PANDA  (Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Australia)
