My name is Crystalrose Guerra, I’m 28 years old from Los Angeles, California, and I’m a Figure Skater.
I’ve been skating for about 21 years now and have competed Regionally, Nationally, and Internationally.
I grew up in Culver City, California which is a small city in Los Angeles and I attended school full time and skated before and after school. My parents worked very hard to keep me in the sport, and to help me achieve my goals and dreams. Some of my fellow skaters had dreams of being in the Olympics, but my dreams were different, I wanted to perform in shows and coach skaters. I wanted to give back to the sport that had given me so much.
As soon as I graduated High School I was on the road with Disney on Ice: High School Musical. It was a dream come true! I toured for a year, had many new experiences, traveled, made memories, and friends from all over the world.
When I got back home to Culver City I began my coaching career at my local rink, The Culver Ice Arena and created my own little skating team. Sadly in 2014 we lost our rink and had to pick up and move to a new rink, which taught us to get out of our comfort zones and keep moving forward. Flash forward 3 years I still coach young skaters full time and have created a production team in honor of our rink, The Culver Ice Productions, since losing our rink we have achieved 2 National Gold Medals, and my skaters have had the honor of being apart of a Michigan Theatre team called Harmony Theatre Company, earning some of them International status and most importantly an extended skating family.
With a little faith, passion, and a lot of ambition you can make anything happen. It’s easier to give up and throw in the towel, it’s much harder to keep your chin up and push through when everything seems like it’s going against you, but I promise getting through and fulfilling your plans and goals is best feeling you could ever have. No one can take that from you.
