My name is Harriet Burbidge-Smith, but everyone calls me Haz!

I’m a 25 year old mountain biker from Australia. I have been riding my bike since the age of 4, and spent the first 20 years racing BMX internationally.

At 22 I found a love for Mountain biking and eventually made the full move to MTB.

I am currently a 2 x amateur World Champ and an 8 x Australian Champion.

The past year I have focused on Freeride and Crankworx events. Mountain Biking and riding my bike is my absolute passion, and I love everything that comes with it, from riding and pushing the sport, to building and creating new lines, trails, content and working with friends.

We can make a difference. we can save lives. we can change the world – You have the ability to make your greatest dreams a reality. Live passionately.

“Harriet first fell in love with BMX as a four-year-old, and spent roughly the next 20 years racing (and winning). Her plan was to make the Olympics and represent Australia, but those plans got a little waylaid when she switched focus, and decided MTB was more her jam. “I was looking for other aspects of the sport to satisfy my creative interests,” she told Flow Mountain Bike magazine in 2021. “I’m not saying that it can’t be done with BMX, but I was struggling to find it.”

Having found a new lease of life and new levels of creative expression on her mountain bike, she hasn’t looked back since. For proof of her ability to ride with the best of them, you need only flick through her Instagram or YouTube channels – the latter of which dates back over a decade – where she regularly posts her latest, face-melting clips for a taste.

As for her signing on as a Red Bull athlete in 2021? It’s fair to say Harriet’s pretty pumped. “I got my WINGS!” she says. “I’m so stoked to work hard and progress freeride and everything bike with [Red Bull]. I’ve got some extra wings now.”
