So this is my story:

I sustained an spinal cord injury and AK amputation when I was 20 years old due to a car accident.

My injury changed me physically but not spiritually.

Even though I struggled in the beginning to adapt to the new me, I learned to accept and love myself.  I am more than a woman in a nice chair. I am more than my chronic pain.

This is the mentality I must carry on with me to keep moving forward. I started to put goals in front of me, think positively, and say yes to my opportunities. I have been blessed with wonderful things in my life.

If I have a bad day or don’t want to get up off my bed, all I think about in that moment is the special people in my life that love me and are waiting for me to enjoy life with them like my daughter for example.

My motto is accept, adapt, and overcome.
