Tara Makey is the bestselling author of Cured by Nature, a soul singer and global motivational speaker. She is the Founder and CEO of The Organic Life, recognized as one of the Healthiest Companies of the Year. Tara has been honored as Woman of the Year and inspires people to make bold and brave moves, take actions to live their dreams and create lives they only once imagined.
Tara was born and raised in New York City. She studied biology and worked at Weill Cornell Medical College in NYC before moving to California in 2011 to pursue her passions in health, acting and music. Since then she has worked alongside celebrities such as Selena Gomez, Arctic Monkeys, Tyga, Demi Lovato, Snoop Dogg, Jessie J, Lea Michele as well as many health and wellness campaigns as a featured model and spokeswoman. She headlined at The House of Blues and wrote, produced and directed music videos for her singles “Visual Exchange” and “Strange Fruit.”
Tara began her blog, The Organic Life, in 2012 to share her wellness journey. Tara’s bohemian spirit, talent and drive has generated an engaged and inspired following.
Mackey landed a book deal through The Organic Life blog, and her first book, Cured by Nature, became an instant #1 bestseller. The work details Tara’s journey coming off of over a dozen pharmaceuticals and reclaiming her life, health and wellness. She is currently writing her second book.
